Temple Viper, Tropidolaemus wagleri, is also known as Wagler's Viper. Large numbers of these venomous snakes are kept in the Snake Temple in Penang, Malaysia, where they are used in religious rituals and freely handled. In addition to Malaysia, this snake can also be found over much of Southeast Asia and the Philippines. This snake is remarkable for the variation in its coloration among the different populations.
