The Brazilian lancehead, Bothrops moojeni, is also called the Brazilian fer-de-lance. This dangerously venomous snake can grow to almost seven feet in length and quickly becomes aggressively defensive when disturbed. It inhabits scrub forests and tropical grasslands of central and southeastern Brazil, eastern Paraguay, northern Argentina and eastern Bolivia.
