Bolitoglossine salamanders are arboreal amphibians found through Central America and south into the upper Amazon basin. They have projectile tongues used to capture prey. This is Bolitoglossa altamazonica. This individual was photographed on a night hike at the CICRA research center, Madre de Dios, Peru.
