There are many groundwater crayfish in the aquifers of Florida. This is a rarely observed species, Procambarus franzi, the "orange-lake cave crayfish," from Marion Co., Florida. Only remnant visual structures remain in this species. The taxa is listed by the IUCN as endangered and by the state of Florida as rare.
