The Blue Grouse (Dendragapus obscurus) is a large, dark colored grouse. Displaying males show a bare fleshy patch on the neck that is bright red or yellow in color. The Blue Grouse is a species of the western mountains of North America ranging from SE Alaska and the Yukon south to California, Arizona and New Mexico.
