The common Pill bug (Armadillidium vulgare) lives under rocks and logs in North American woods. They are unsual land crustaceans that need moist habitats to live. They often roll into a ball to protect their soft undersides, and can be referred to as sow bugs since they feed on decomposing vegetation.
