Chambered Nautilus (Nautilus pompilius) photographed at the Dallas Aquarium. Nautiluses have a fossil record dating back 500 million years and were once one of the most dominant groups of marine organisms in terms of both biomass and number of species. This individual is one of the six remaining species that live in our present day oceans.
