Station Master, Finmere Station, Oxfordshire, 1904. In 1898-1899 the Great Central Railway Company (formed 1897) created a main railway route from Sheffield through Nottingham and Leicester to London. The line was closed in the late 1960s and subsequently was largely dismantled.
