Twelve views of Maker Church depicting the different signals from the tower used by the British Navy. This shows a pre-Napoleonic signalling system used by the British Navy in the middle of the eighteenth century. It predates; and is significantly cruder than; semaphore and could only be used for short-distance signalling.[London]: Printed for and Sold by Henry Overton Map and Printseller at the White Horse without Newgate; London; and by the booksellers of Plymouth and Exeter.
