Royal instructions to the Commissioners for making a survey and valuation of Church property; 30th January 1535. The Valor Ecclesiasticus; compiled over the course of 1535; was one of the great administrative achievements of Henry's government. This commission provided for commissioners in every diocese to undertake a systematic investigation and listing of the value of all 鈥榗athedral churches; colleges; churches collegiate; houses conventual; hospitals; monasteries; priories; houses religious; prebends; parsonages; vicarages; chantries; free chapels and other cures; offices and promotions spiritual' in England and Wales.
