Through his magic powers; Bharadvaja has conjured up a palace set in a pleasure ground for the entertainment and refreshment of his guests. Bharadvaja and the other ascetics and Brahmins sit in the throne-room; while the two princes first sit beside the empty throne; allotted of course to the absent Rama; and then take their leave. Two chowrie-bearers fan the throne; while apsarases dance and play musical instruments outside; and others look on from the windows.
