Hanuman lands with his mountain peak just outside the walls of La?ka and various monkeys start to explore it. Vibhi?a?a seems to be making a herbal poultice; while Su?e?a holds a magical healing herb under Lak?ma?a's nose; which cures him miraculously. Lak?ma?a arises and he and Rama embrace. Rama tells him that neither Sita; nor victory; nor life itself would hold any meaning for him without his brother; but Lak?ma?a reproves him: it is his duty to slay Rava?a that very day and recover his wife.
