The companions have reached the river Ga?ga at S??gaverapura. Rama and Sita are seated on a mat of straw under a tree; meant to be an I?gudi tree; while Lak?ma?a and Sumantra are similarly seated facing them. The horses have been unharnessed from the chariot and crop the grass by the Ga?ga.
