ARCADE OF THE TRONTO m. 778; Panorama with view of Monte Vettore m. 2478. Citadel of the Piceno bordering on three regions (Lazio; Umbria and Abruzzo); its territory is surrounded by two natural areas: the Gran Sasso National Park and the Laga Mountains to the south; and the Sibillini Mountains National Park to the north. Note to the Rocca overlooking the village and the native grape that produces the Pecorino Wine of Arquata del Tronto; in August 2016 it was the scene of a terrible earthquake; which produced collapse or heavily damaged numerous buildings and caused 51 Victims; of which 46 in the only hamlet of Pescara del Tronto. Numerous shocks have followed the main and following the earthquake repeat on October 26 and 30; which has definitely razed the buildings to the ground; a slit has been created; a fault slope of more than 15 km along Mount Vettore from Arquata to To Ussita (MC) where it is evident that the soil collapses; from 20 to 70 cm according to places; which affected the whole area. As a testimony to a panorama that we will not see again; and the odds that are no longer; this postcard of the 50s of the twentieth century remains.
