ANCIENT ROME "For Hannibal comes presented the head of his brother Hasdrubal defeated by Livius and Nero". The Carthaginian general Hasdrubal Barca (245 BC - 207 BC) was settling in Italy to bring reinforcements to his brother Hannibal (247 BC - 183 BC) engaged in the reconquest of Bruttium (Calabria); but on June 22; 207 BC clashed with security forces united Republican army commanded by the two consuls Marcus Livio Salinatore and Gaius Claudio Nerone at the Battle of Metauro; in the Marches. The outcome of the battle in which perished gloriously; favorable for the Romans; marked the fate of the Second Punic War. The Nero console; with disdain for the fallen opponent; ordered it to be cut off her head and it was launched in Carthage; Hannibal acquired it so that way his brother's death.
