PASSO ROLLE (TN) Baita Segantini; 2195 meters altitude - Pale group. It was built in 1936 by Alfredo Paluselli (1900 - 1969); an Italian artist and mountaineer of Ziano di Fiemme; who dedicated it to Giovanni Segantini; the famous landscape painter of Arco (TN) whom he admired as a master. After building the road to provide material and shelter; his artistic sense led him to complete the landscape by diverting a cloud and creating the small pond reflecting and duplicating the majesty of the Pale. He then retired for the rest of his life in his oasis of peace; continuing the activity of alpine guide and poet; a tireless ascendant pioneer. Postcard; photography; Italy 1953
