(Upper): King Constans in monastic garb being stabbed. The original heading is simply 鈥楴ayremoyn' [black monk]; but a later hand has added Constans' name. (Lower): A group of men; one in the centre with b芒ton (Vortiger ?) apparently pointing at the murder above; another with glove in hand (perhaps doing fealty to the new king).
