Photograph of Guglielmo Marconi's wireless telegraph station in Cornwall, which sent and received signals between England and America. The first successful transmission was 12 December 1901 between Poldhu and Hospital Point, Newfoundland. The towers were made from wood. Guglielmo Marconi (1874-1937) an Italian inventor and electrical engineer. Dated 20th century.
