The national dance of the Baloch or Baluch people, Balochistan or Baluchistan, Iran. Thirty or more men join hands, form a circle and move slowly towards each other in undulating lines, retreating to re-form the circle without ever unclasping hands. The dance becomes more frenzied as it continues with some dancers dropping out due to exhaustion whilst others take their places. From Customs of The World, published circa 1913.
