The Yamaboko Junk? parade, part of the Gion Festival celebrated every 17th and 24th July in Kyoto, Japan. A procession of dashi or floats led by a famous halberd, endowed with the virtue of healing, is borne on the foremost float, on the dais of which stands, between two virgins, the chief danseuse.
