JOHN AVENTINO (1477 - 1534); from the Latin Italianisation Johannes Aventinus; that Johan from Abensberg; name by which it was known Johann Georg Turmair (or Thurmayr) historian and German philologist. Guardian of the younger brothers of William IV of Bavaria from 1509 to 1517; was later appointed official historian of Bavaria; and in that capacity he composed chronicon "Annales Bojorum" (Annals of the Bavarians) for which he was also nicknamed "Bavarian Herodotus".
