ANNA OF BRITAIN (1477-1514) eldest daughter of the Duke Francis II and Marguerite de Foix. sovereign Duchess of Brittany to the disputed succession to his father in 1488; was Queen of France for the first time in 1491 for the marriage to Charles VIII; I was widowed and childless married as a master contract with the successor; Louis XII; becoming for the second time queen of France in 1499. From this marriage were born daughters Claudia; future wife of Francesco I and Queen of France; and Renata. He was nicknamed "The Duchess with their hooves."
