Olympias -reconstruction of an ancient Athenian trireme and an example of experimental archaeology. Constructed from 1985 to 1987 shipbuilder in Piraeus. The ship was built to drawings by the naval architect John F. Coates with historian J. S. Morrison following the classics teacher Charles Willink drew evidence from Greek history and archaeology --The ship was built from Oregon pine and Virginia oak.
