Gathered at Lyons and began to march towards the South; and in June Raymond of Toulouse; seeing the danger approaching; made an act of contrition in Valence; and promised to fight against the heresy. The Crusaders went to Montpellier and went to the land of Raimond Roger; who tries to follow in his uncle's footsteps; but the papal legates refuse to receive him; and after the bag of B閦iers Raimond Roger falls back on Carcassonne; and on August 1st the Crusaders start the siege of the city. There was a shortage of water in the city; which led to his surrender on August 15.
