Usto Mumin; born Alexander Nikolaev (1897-1957); was a Russian artist who settled in Uzbekistan in 1920. He embraced Uzbek culture wholheartedly and adopted Islam; changing his name to Usto Mumin; while devoting himself to the study of Uzbek music and dance.

As an adoptive Uzbek; he is considered a leading representative of Central Asian avant garde painting of the 1920s and 1930s.
