LEGENDRE Adrien-Marie (1751-1833) French; teorizzatore mathematician of homonymous polinomi orthogonal and the founding one of the theory of the elliptic functions. "Trait?DES fonctions elliptiques ET DES wrote int間rales 閡leriennes; avec DES tables pour en faciliter calcul num閞ique" (1825-28). He was also author of the first witnesses geometric mathematicians and for the elementary instruction.
