ATROPA Belladonna family of the Solanacee. It is a herbaceous plant with very sturdy rizomatosa root from which the stalk; simple rises for the first section and then ramificato in three branches that can reach 1;50 mt of height. The fruits and the leaves of the Atropa belladonna contain alkaloid; like the scopolamina and the atropine; that they have effects I depressed to you on the nervous endings. The Atropa belladonna grows in the montana and submontana zone; in the ombrosi forests of the Alps and Apennines. Very poisonous plant. Photography Elena Piccini; 2004.
