Alcide De Gasperi (1881-1954) politician; Member of Parliament for the Popular Party (1921); anti-fascist; he was arrested in 1927 and remained in prison for 16 months. He organized the Christian Democratic Party was illegal and his secretary; and president of the board since 1945; he signed a peace treaty with the Allies.
