The Old Palace (Stari dvor); also called Old Royal Palace or simply Old Court; is opposite New Palace (Novi Dvor). The Old Palace was built 1882 to 1884 by architect Aleksandar Bugarski in so called academic style. Until 1903; it was the royal residence of the Obrenovic dynasty; mainly for King Milan Obrenovic. After restauration until 1947; it was seat of the presidium of the national assembly and of the federal government. Since 1961; it is used as city assembly of Belgrade.
