001-D/ STATUE-ARTEMIS#Sanctuary of Delian Apollo and Artemisfirst excavated by ?. Rubensohn is located on a hill north of Paroikia. Established in the Geometric period (9th-8th c. BC) it was very simple enclosure surrounded a rocky knoll that served as an altar for votive sacrifices. A marble temple [NAISKOS]-(9.50 x 6 m) was erected at the same place it featured a cella and a pronaos with two columns at the porch.
