Perry Cubmarine, 1966. Underwater view of the Perry (PC-3B) Cubmarine in the sea off Palomares, Spain. This tiny submarine was designed as a research vessel. Here, it is being used to search for a hydrogen bomb that was lost when two US Air Force planes collided on 17 January 1966. The nuclear weapon was recovered by the US Navy on 7 April 1966. Also known as Techdiver, this submersible can operate at a depth of 180 metres for 6 hours, carrying a pilot and specialist crew members. This was one of the first submarines to have hydraulic manipulating arms. Photographed in 1966.
