Katydid moulting. Katydid shedding its skin (molting) on the end of a twig. Katydids (family Tettigoniidae), also known as bush crickets, inhabit mostly tropical regions. They usually feed on leaves and flowers, although they are capable of preying on other insects and small reptiles. They moult at the end of each life stage, such as changing from a nymph. Once they complete their last moult they are full adults and able to mate.
