Emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), due mainly to motor vehicles and industry,.are concentrated in the Northern Hemisphere, especially in three zones: North America (east coast, California), Europe (including Russia and the Baku region), and the Far East (Japan, Korea, Shanghai region). Secondary pollution zones are appearing around the industrial metropolises of developing countries: Mexico City, Sa?o Paulo, Caracas, Johannesburg, Singapore, and New Delhi.
