Henry Unton (c.1557-1596), English diplomat. Unton studied at the University of Oxford and become a member of parliament. After serving in the army in battles in the Netherlands, he was knighted in 1586. In 1591 and 1593, he was ambassador to the court of the French king. He died in France in 1596, with his body returned to England for burial following a large funeral procession. Memorial verses in Latin were published to commemorate his life.
