Billed by the locals; and with reason; as 鈥楾hailand's most beautiful train station'; this wooden building was once a royal pavilion at the Sanamchan Palace in Nakhon Pathom province. It was moved to Hua Hin and restructured as a railway station in 1968. In fact the station overflows with a period charm; from the red-and-white tiled platform; through the gleaming; retired steam locomotive permanently on display opposite the platform; to the pink-curtained waiting room. But the centerpiece has to be the pink; yellow and white multi-eaves sala that serves as the main station building. More temple adjunct than station; the entire ensemble exudes a seductive charm.
