ENI the six-legged dog with the flame that comes from the mouth. Symbol of the National Hydrocarbons; created in 1952 with the state capital to promote research; processing and distribution of petroleum products and methane Italian. The author of the symbol was Luigi Broggini (1908-1983); who do not never admitted paternity; and the certainty of the symbol only came after his death; through the testimony of the child reported by the journalist Dante Ferrari. The official interpretation given by the press office of Eni in the fifties; explains the six legs of the imaginary as the sum of four car wheels and two legs of his driver. A sort of modern centaur; and also almost an assurance that the means of locomotion becomes as fast as possible through the symbiosis between the car and the driver. Here he is in an advertisement for 'Supercortemaggiore the powerful petrol Italian'. Italy 1952
