The Descours & Cabaud company was founded in Lyon in 1782 by C閟ar Dufournel. In 1884; a subsidiary was opened in Argentina and; in 1898; the company expanded into French Indochina.

As of 2015; Descours & Cabaud remains a leader in the marketing of supplies for industry and construction (Iron products; special products and wire construction; hardware; tools; industrial supplies; equipment personal protection; heating; sanitary; plumbing; water business; industrial components).
