Paolo Francesco DANEO (Paul of the Cross; 1694-1775); the birthplace in Ovada; revered as a saint by the Catholic Church; patron of Ovada and Castellazzo Bormida; was the founder of the Congregation of the Passionist Fathers and nuns cloistered Passionist. The carved wooden shutters is the symbol of the Passionists and the wall appears painted a large coat of arms; beneath which lie the shrine with a statue of the saint and the commemorative plaque.
