Within Chumphon Province the best and most popular beach is at Hat Thung Wua Laen; about 16km (10 miles) south of Pathiu District and a similar distance north of Chumphon town.

Hat Thung Wua Laen is a long stretch of white sand beach; gently sloping to the waters of the Gulf of Thailand. Chiefly popular with local Thai tourists; it is nevertheless drawing more overseas visitors for it lack of crowding; reasonable prices; authentic Thai food and for its authentically Thai atmosphere.
