ETRUSCHI Vel Saties with an attendant; painting from the Tomb of Fran鏾is necropolis of Vulci; dated 340-310 a. C. and brought to light in 1857 by Alessandro Fran鏾is; from which it took its name. The aristocratic Etruscan is depicted richly dressed and with the laurel wreath; while his servant is about to release a woodpecker whose flight will draw the auspices.
