Ghitta CARELL (1899-1972). Photographer; born in Budapest from Israelite parents; moved very young in Florence (1924) where he began his profession as a photographer. Later in Rome was the author of the most beautiful portraits of the personalities of his time. Creator of the shots; also personally performed the delicate task of editing. Scan directly to the negative plate; which reports on interventions in red opaque mattoleina and directions to the cut. It was probably intended for a conventional print oval; but the positive in its entirety (Id # 29706) appears to our eyes as a portrait artist by the gaze of a serene and secure; pleasantly at the center of a whirlwind of creative spots. Self-portrait for passport photo; circa 1940 AVAILABLE EXTRALARGE
