JUNEAU Solomon (1793-1856) merchant leather and fur; as well as political born in Canada from French colonial family; his trading post was considered the first permanent settlement (1820); of Milwaukee; the city officially founded in 1846 which was the first mayor. The building was located east of the Milwaukee River and north of the Grand Avenue bridge. Having married a woman of mixed French and Menomini; entertained excellent relations with the settlements of Native Americans; with the benefit of the expansion of cities and the rising of its own activity. A Juneau fellow citizens have dedicated a large park that preserves its monument; and the High School. Reconstruction located on the Milwaukee Art Museum. Chromos; Wisconsin; USA; circa 1925.
