WORLD WAR ITALIAN heats rations; tablets made from rolls of paper soaked in wax or paraffin for heating rations in the trenches; in the absence of field kitchen. They were also produced by hand by volunteer groups; such as in schools. On the table shows the complete cycle of processing: the old sticks of rolled up newspapers; breads which are soaked in paraffin; cutter for cutting the sticks in strips; pack of 1000 pieces ready for the front; on the right a mess rests on two bricks how to use it. This basic but effective system has evolved over time; currently the soldiers at the front have pads of chemicals that can burn in a closed place without producing smoke or allow debris. Patriotic photographic composition; the center stands the Tricolour and many flags decorating the various elements. Italy; 1915-18.
