STAMP St. Matthias Mulumba Kalemba (death; May 27; 1886 at 50 years old) clan Lugave; San Noah Mawagalli (death May 31; 1886 at 35 years old) clan Ngabi; servant of the king; who offered his breast to the spears of the soldiers; which was nailed to a tree and then hanged; St. Luke Banabakintu (35 years); the clan Mmamba. Converted to Catholicism by the White Fathers of Cardinal Charles Lavigerie; were killed during the anti-Christian persecution in their home country (1885-1887); commemorating June 3. The Christian Fathers wore a cultural message that was opposed to the tribal traditions of the ancient independent kingdom of Buganda; attracting the hostility of the king Mwanga II who reacted by ordering a massacre of Christians; many of them little more than teenagers.
