Bohuslav Martinů (1890-1959) Czech-born American composer. According violin Czech Philharmonic Orchestra until 1923; then moved to Paris where he met Igor 'Stravinsky and Arthur Honegger; during the First World War took part in the cultural ferment of the School of Paris.
