Pope Gregory XIV (1535-1591) aka Nicholas Sfondrati born in Cremona; who was elected in 1590; died in 1591. He knew at a young age Cardinal St. Charles Borromeo; was a friend and admirer of St. Philip Blacks; St. Camillus de Lellis and Saint Louis Gonzaga; with whom he shared the commitment in assisting the sick; represented while assisting those affected by fair epidemic.
