BEETHOVEN Act 2 Scene 8 of the work of Ludwig Van Beethoven's "Fidelio"; composed to a libretto by Joseph Sonnleithner and Georg Friedrich Treitschke. Don Pizarro in prison; savors revenge against Florestan; who thinks it will do soon with the help of the jailer Rocco to hide the corpse of his enemy. The first presentation is November 20; 1805 in the Theater an der Wien (Vienna) was not successful; and the Master was forced to withdraw. Only in 1814; after several revisions which led to even the reduction from three to two acts; the lyrical drama finally met and definitely the favor of the public.
