At bow Street police court this morning, lady Elizabeth Clyde, 29-year-old daughter of the Duke of Wellington, appeared to face 5 summonses alleging that she bought French francs from an unauthorised source in France in 1946. The summonses involving a total of hundred and Fr.12,800. Lady Elizabeth, who lives at Chester Terrace, Regents Park, is married to major Thomas Clyde, Royal horse guards. Lady Clyde pleaded guilty to all 5 summonses, was fined ?35 the amount of the cheques cashed with 10 Guineas costs. She was given 7 days to pay. 13 November 1947
