Edda Ribetti is back. The famous young Italian primadonna, Elda Ribetti, makes a welcome return to British music tomorrow (Friday) . When she sings the part of Gilda in 'Rigoletto', opening production of the Royal Covent Garden Opera House season. A coloratura soprano, Elda Ribetti was born in Florence in 1920, studied under Amani, Ricci and Victor de Sabata. 25 years of age, she is married to her Scottish tutor, Mr Malcolm Smith. Elda had to study the English score of 'Rigoletto' on the way home from touring South Africa, although she has sung the opera many times Italian, she is never sung it in our language.
