The annual costermonger's parade in Walworth, which was last held in 1938, was revived this afternoon. Led by Mr Jim Duckworth, of Walworth, "pearly king of the Old Kent Road" costers, dressed in their pearly refinery, paraded at St Mary Magdalene Church, Congreve Street, and attended a harvest festival service. Gifts of fruit and vegetables taken to the church will later be distributed among the needy in the district. Picture shows: Mr Jim Duckworth, 76 year old "Pearly King" seemed reading the lesson at this afternoon's harvest festival service, held in St Mary Magdalen church, Walworth. 12 October 1947
